Thanks for your input. My article was not about the history of the swastika but about the use made by these German researchers. I believe the most knowledgeable German scholars possessed this historical information. However others did not know or chose to ignore the real origins of the symbol. That way they could concoct their own version of cultural history. Schliemann certainly was ingenuous but did not have the educational background to appreciate the facts.
